Kwant - e-commerce for nationwide chain of wholesalers

Boring Owl team was responsible for designing and implementing the front-end layer, working with a pre-existing backend and client-provided wireframes. As part of the project, we also developed a custom CMS based on Strapi and built a blog content generation tool integrated with ChatGPT.

Challenge

Goal of the project was to create a modern, responsive and efficient user interface for an electrical wholesaler that:

• Provides an efficient and convenient online shopping experience across different devices.
• Supports a large number of products and an extensive category structure.
• Works with existing backend and mobile client application “Kwant App”.
• Allows dynamic content and blog management.

The key challenge was seamlessly integrating a modern front-end with an existing back-end and predefined mockups, all while maintaining high performance, an intuitive user experience, and flexibility for future platform development.

Solution

Our team designed and implemented the front-end layer of the online store, using the latest web technologies. Project was implemented in a model of weekly sprints with regular meetings with the client's team.

• Frontend: Next.js (React), TypeScript, Material UI - ensuring high performance, accessibility and responsive interface.
